“Repentance is man’s coming undone” by C. John Miller

“Repentance has nothing to do with what man has done. Rather it is man’s coming undone in respect to all human righteousness, followed by his going outside himself in faith to Christ alone for salvation.”

–C. John Miller, Repentance and 21st Century Man (Fort Washington, Pa.: CLC Publications, 1980), 63.

  1. i love the Gospel. i love books like A Gospel Primer and Living The Cross Centered Life. i also love what i have heard about C. John Miller’s ministry. Any other recommendations of books or authors that proclaim the centrality of the Gospel?

  2. Joey,

My three favorite books on the gospel this year have been:

    1. Pierced for Our Transgressions (Jeffery, Ovey, and Sach)
    2. In My Place Condemned He Stood (Packer and Dever)
    3. The Cross He Bore (Frederick S. Leahy)

All three books wonderfully proclaim the centrality of the Gospel.

    Grace and peace,

    –Nick

  3. Great quote from a great book. I just read it last year. I also read “A Faith Worth Sharing” by Miller which I listed as one of my top three books in 2008. Here is the link, let me know what you think:
