“What you have, the Lord has given you; and if He sees that is too little, He will moreover give you such and such things: 2 Samuel 12:8. But then it must be in His way and time, and not in your own.

How can you teach others to live a life of faith, except you learn, by daily experience, to live it yourself? And the life of faith is maintained, not by bags and coffers, but by pleading the promises in prayer, when we have nothing else to look to.

As to the success of your ministry, it is no part of your concern, farther than to make it matter of prayer. Faithfulness and diligence is our part; the rest is the Lord’s.

The more you believe, the better you will preach.”
