Cling to the cross, then. Put both arms around it! Hold to the Crucified, and never let Him go. Come afresh to the cross at this moment, and rest there now and forever! Then, with the power of God resting upon you, go forth and preach the cross! Tell out the story of the bleeding Lamb.

Spurgeon’s series on the cross and the resurrection are inspirational even today once you can get past the older form of language and get used to it. Truly the cross was victory over sin and Christ’s resurrection victory over death. His victory is our victory when we are found in Him. Acts 4:33 says “and with great power, the apostles gave witness to the resurrection.” I am a missionary and I have never failed to see signs and wonders take place after preaching on it. The Father eagerly attesting to the truth of the resurrection of His Son.
